4 Questions Answered
Q. My husband and I are endeavoring to have our wills done. We are 70 and 71.
A: It is always important to plan ahead and look into Estate Planning, no matter your age or stage in life. A thoughtful estate planning will ensure your assets pass on to heirs according to your last wishes. Without a Will, for example, your loved ones would have to go through a lengthy process through the Courts to administer your assets according to law. You should contact an attorney to look into what options are the best fit for your uniq
Q. I want to report someone to CPS because of some things I've seen .I do not want her to know I called CPS on her.
A: If you suspect or know that a child is being abused or neglected, you should report it as soon as possible. You may call 1-800-252-5400 and tell them right away that you want to remain anonymous. Please know that, even if you tell them your name, Child Protective Services (CPS) keeps the name of the person making the report confidential. On the flip-side, anyone who does not report suspected abuse can be held criminally liable for the omission. If you have any questions regarding this issue, there are many lawyers that handle both criminal and child abuse cases, like myself, that would be glad to offer you advice or a consultation.
Q. can I get a non disclosure agreement?
A: You may petition for an order of non-disclosure to seal records of an arrest and its corresponding judicial process that resulted in you being placed in deferred adjudication probation (community supervision). If you completed the probation successfully, and after the requisite statutory waiting period has been satisfied, then you may petition for an order of non-disclosure. An order of non-disclosure does not destroy the records, but rather secures them under seal to prevent the public and private agencies from discovering these records. Nonetheless, the records continue to be available to both state and federal law enforcement agencies, as well other government administrative state and federal agencies. You should contact an attorney to discuss your situation and check if you qualify to file for an order of non-disclosure. ... Read More
