Biography

I am John Christopher, a Registered Patent Attorney and a Partner at Leech Tishman, where I lead the firm's South Florida office. My practice covers all facets of patent, trademark, and copyright portfolio development, management, exploitation, and enforcement, in addition to handling business transactions related to intellectual property. I collaborate with a diverse range of clients including publicly traded and privately held companies, both domestic and international, as well as start-up and early stage companies, individuals, universities, and investors across various industries.

I provide counsel on intellectual property matters throughout various stages, from start-up through financing rounds, initial public offerings, mergers, acquisitions, partnering arrangements, and enforcement actions. My background includes serving as a U.S. Air Force fighter pilot, and I hold a B.S. degree from the United States Air Force Academy and a J.D. from Northeastern University. I am licensed to practice law in Florida and Massachusetts and am admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the First Circuit, as well as the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.

I have been an active member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) for many years, where I have served as an Association Delegate to Asia, engaging with senior legal and government officials in Hong Kong, China, and S. Korea. Additionally, I have been a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA), the Broward County Bar Association, where I served as Chairman of the Corporate Counsel Section, and the Intellectual Property Law Association of Florida.

I have been recognized by South Florida CEO Magazine and Florida Monthly Magazine as one of Florida's top lawyers and have been selected by my peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America. I have also been awarded an AVVO rating of 10.0 (Superb).
