Jodi B. Zimmerman focuses her practice on Elder Law and Estate Planning matters including the preparation of Wills, Trusts, Probate and Administration petitions and Guardianships. Ms. Zimmerman brings over 20 years of counseling and business experience to her clients and understands the practice of law is about more than just statutes and rules, it's about the people who need quality representation.
In 1984, Ms. Zimmerman earned her BA in Humanities from Florida Atlantic University and, in 2005 graduated from the Hofstra University School of Law.
Ms. Zimmerman is admitted to practice in the State of New York, as well as the United States District Court, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the Supreme Court of the United States. Ms. Zimmerman is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association, Nassau County Women’s Bar Association, New York State Bar Association and the Women’s Bar Association, State of New York.
Ms. Zimmerman was acknowledged with the Doris S. Hoffman Outstanding New Lawyer Award, in June 2013 by the Women's Bar Association, State of New York, and was also the recipient of the Bessie Ray Geffner, Esq. Memorial Award in June 2010 for Outstanding Newly Admitted Attorney.
Ms. Zimmerman is on the Board of Directors of Life’s WORC, a private, 501(c) (3) organization that supports people with developmental disabilities and autism. Life’s WORC offers comprehensive services and support to over 1,500 people with developmental disabilities and autism and families in Queens, Nassau and Suffolk counties. Their residential locations provide supportive homes to over 250 people throughout the noted communities including East Harlem.
Ms. Zimmerman continues her community efforts as Team Captain, for the past 9 years, for “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer,” a charity walk.
