Legal Answers
3 Questions Answered
- Q. If a USPS truck pulls out crossing lanes without looking causing someone to drive off the road, can you sue for damages
- A: The USPS driver owed you a duty of care. If they failed to meet that duty, it does not matter that there was no contact between your vehicles. (There are exceptions to this, such as in a hit and run scenario).
- Q. Hit and Run car accident triggers heart attack and leads to surgical procedure, what should I do?
- A: Your friend should contact a qualified injury attorney to discuss their case. He would need to file a police report within 24 hours of the accident or as soon as he’s out of the hospital. He also needs to contact the insurance company for the car in which he was a passenger.
- Q. Is it usual for a slip and fall case to go on for 4yrs?
- A: Yes, it can. The facts and circumstances of every case are different and courts are packed with cases just like yours. As long as you and your lawyer are communicating and you are being advised what step your case is in, and your case is progressing, no matter how slowly, it’s pretty normal.
