Jeanette M Durham
Maine Family Law, LLC
My law practice focuses exclusively on helping clients with issues relating to divorce, child support, child custody, visitation, and protection from abuse or harassment.
Full Representation or Limited Representation:
You have the option of hiring me to give you advice and counsel about a specific issue or circumstance, or, you can hire me for full representation in a family matter court action out of York or Cumberland counties. Limited Representations focus on specific issues, such as: Should I try to modify my visitation? How much could child support be? Whereas Full Representation means you want me to take actions on your behalf and I appear as your lawyer.
Pre-litigation analysis:
Sometimes things go wrong in your life, if you're reading this - you know. It is important to call an experienced lawyer when things start going wrong, so you understand how to avoid bigger issues down the road. I will work with you to help you understand your options and to let you know about potential consequences or outcomes related to your situation and actions. I enjoy working with clients to give them ongoing guidance and insight, which can limit your stress levels and likely reduce future costs associated with uninformed decisions made early on.
Multi-State Child Custody and Child Support Issues:
In my former position as a Child Support Enforcement Agent at the Maine DHHS, I gained extensive experience dealing with out of state orders relating to child custody and child support. When parents reside in multiple states, the analysis to determine who can modify or establish an order can be confusing and it requires a careful analysis by an attorney with experience.
Community Involvement:
I am part of the Family Division of the American Bar Association, a member of the Family Law Section of the Maine State Bar Association, and also a member of the York Bar Association. I also love being an assistant coach for the Kennebunk High School mock trial team.
