Attorney: Berrien County Indigent Defense; 2017 - Current; I am a contract attorney for Court Appointed services at our St. Joseph courthouse. I handle mainly felony matters, but also misdemeanors there. As a practical matter, it is the same work that I had been doing in Niles under a different contract, until the end of 2016.

Attorney: Engram Law Office; 2011 - Current; On January 2, 2011, I opened my own law office at my current location, and continue to put into practice all those things that I've learned over the last 15 years. I handle contempt matters, expungements, probation violations, probate and estate planning matters, civil infractions, contract matters, criminal defense, and general real estate and civil matters, as well as driver license restoration cases.

Attorney / Partner: Juvenile Delinquency Defense Group; 2013 - 2021; From January of 2013, to April of 2021, I was a Partner with the Juvenile Delinquency Defense Group, which consisted of myself, Gennel Laluna-Schaffer, and Brendan Neal, with Ryan Wojtowicz serving as our conflict counsel. My juvenile docket was every Wednesday afternoon, at our St. Joseph Courthouse. With the Juvenile Contract my duty is to represent the client from at least the Arrangement, through Disposition. The JDDG handles all juvenile criminal matters. While I had not practiced much in the way of juvenile defendants prior to commencing my duties for the contract, my larger experience with adult misdemeanors and felonies made the learning curve much less challenging.

Attorney: Niles Defense, LLC; 2012 - 2016; In April of 2012, I again began working with Niles Defense, through September of 2016.

Attorney: Armstrong Law Office; 2003 - 2010; As an attorney at Armstrong law office, I worked directly with Kurt M. Armstrong. In addition to continuing with Niles Defense for a few more years, I began assisting Kurt with various civil matters. I drafted briefs, and pleadings, and also began to branch out into experience with estate matters, wills, trusts, private criminal defense, and real estate matters, etc. of course, I attended many different hearings either for Kurt, or with him; and more importantly, began building my own private practice with clients of my own.

Attorney: Niles Defense, LLC; 2003 - 2005; I was a member of the criminal defense contract for Court Appointed services at our Niles courthouse. While working at that time with Niles Defense, I, along with two other attorneys, handled all of the misdemeanor and felony matters (except for drug court matters) at the Niles courthouse. I had already worked with the Misdemeanor Contract in St. Joseph; however, I had not handled a large number of felony cases up to that point, so I was able to add felony defense to my experience.

Attorney: Peter J Johnson, Attorney at Law; 2002 - 2003; In February of 2002 to approximately May of 2003 I worked with Peter J Johnson the attorney in St. Joseph Michigan. I drafted briefs and other pleadings, attended court hearings and dates on his behalf, and became more familiar with other areas of law besides criminal defense, such as family law. It was here that I began my familiarization with expungements, and with Driver License Restoration cases, both for the initial hearing, and if necessary, appeals.

Attorney: Paul S. Jancha, Sr., Attorney at Law; 2000 - 2002; I began working as an associate at the Law office of Paul S Jancha, Sr., in St. Joseph. While there, my primary duty was to the Court Appointed Misdemeanor Contract that Paul Jancha was a Partner in. I handled many, many Misdemeanor cases at the St. Joseph Courthouse, on a daily basis for approximately 2 years. I became familiar with the court staff, prosecutors and court procedure, and I tried many cases.
