Q. I was hit in a car accident. Lawyer says I can only get $30K bcuz that was other driver’s policy. Is this true?
A: If you have uninsured or under insured motorist coverage you may be able to recover more money from your own insurance company. Don’t rule out filing suit against the person there may be some assets that you were not aware of. A judgment can always be used as a means for garnishing a paycheck etc. Also if he was working for someone else at the time the employer may have a policy that would offer some coverage.
Q. I am currently separated from my spouse and want it file for an absolute divorce. I fall under Maryland law.
A: If you and your spouse can. Enter into a written agreement that resolves all issues regarding spousal support. And property. You can get a divorce right away. Either one of you can file and as soon as you can get in front of a judge You can get divorced.
Q. I filed divorce from my husband. Im the breadwinner. He does work. Can I move out with my 3 yr old (same state).
A: Yes. However, the big question for you to answer is ” Is this the best thing for our son?” consider hiring a mediator to resolve all issues and avoid court delays, contentious feelings, an potentially high lawyer fees.
