1241 Questions Answered

Q. Is it common practice for a judge to appoint the opposing lawyer as the home inspector of my home in a custody case?
A: No and you should hire a licensed social worker to do an inspection and take photos.
Q. If an officer claims he/she pulled you over because he/she could not read the temp tag. It was clearly readable.
A: Take a picture and hire a criminal attorney
Q. How much does it cost to adopt 3 children already in my custody? They have been with me since October 2018.
A: Attorneys can not solicit business or quote prices on Justia. Any who do, DON'T HIRE THEM. That said, call an adoption attorney for her price.
Q. Can I reopen a case of my father's accidental death that my sister took place in and never included her other siblings?
A: I have no idea how long ago your father died, how long ago you got the check, in which parish the claim/suit occurred, whether it was fraudulently asserted there were no other heirs. You need to hire a civil attorney, answer many questions, for which you haven't supplied information, find out if you still have a remedy available and if you do, file suit.
Q. Can I change my nephews last name? I have full sole custody. Mother on drugs has nothing to do with him father unknown.
A: No. To change his name you need to adopt him.
Q. Does child support reduce when you have another child?
A: Subsequent children do NOT reduce child support for previous children.
Q. How to sign temporary custody/guardianship to grandparent in another state due to sons medical issues?
A: Both son and child's mother need to execute Consent Judgment of custody to grandparents. Hire a custody lawyer.
Q. If my 18 year old is not a full time high school student do I still have to pay child support? She will be 18 this dec.
A: If she is still enrolled in a secondary school program and not yet 19, you still have to pay child support until she graduates or turns 19 whichever comes first.
Q. After leaving a resturant with 15 year old daughter & 6 yr old son. I became suddenly ill to the point I was incapable
A: Don't understand why you wouldn't have called 911 if you were too I'll to drive a few blocks. That said you now need a traffic court attorney for both of you. You may also be getting a call from DCFS.
