David Katz

One of only 3 Board Certified DUI Defense Specialists* in the State of Florida. David Katz was the lead DUI prosecutor in the Seminole County State Attorney's Office and the Intoxilyzer Specialist. In this role, David had direct training from the manufacturer of the only Breath Test Instrument in use in Florida the Intoxilyzer 8000. David now uses this training to show the flaws in the breath test program and machines and to help his clients achieve outstanding results. Additionally, David is a Regent, Faculty Member and the Chairperson of the Board Certification Committee of the National College For DUI Defense. In these roles, David teaches lawyers across the country to defend their clients in DUI cases.

DUI Defense is not the only area which David excels. He is also a nationally recognized Gun Rights attorney. David and his partner James Phillips, wrote the book on Florida Gun Law, entitled, "Florida Gun Law: Armed and Educated," now in its 5th Edition. David has handled numerous gun rights lawsuits and focuses his gun practice on self-defense cases, both criminal and civil. David believes that his firm has successfully handled more Stand Your Ground Immunity hearings than any other law firm in Florida.


David is Board Certified by the National College for DUI Defense, which is accredited by the American Bar Association. The Florida Bar does not recognize DUI as a specialized area of law, therefore not certified as a specialist by the Florida Bar.
