Crystal Haakma is an Associate Attorney in our firm’s Des Moines, IA office. She can help clients throughout Polk County and the surrounding areas.
Crystal attended Drake University Law School in Des Moines, IA, earning her Juris Doctorate in May 2022. While in law school, she received two Advanced Achievement Awards for her academic performance in both Children & the Law and International Human Rights. Before studying law, Crystal earned her Bachelor of Arts in Music Business from Full Sail University. She also earned Course Director Awards in Business Law and International Business, as well as an Advanced Achievement Award. She also earned an Associate’s Degree in History from the College of Southern Idaho. Crystal is licensed and ready to help clients in the state of Iowa.
Before joining the Des Moines, Iowa family law and divorce lawyers at Stange Law Firm, Crystal most recently spent time working as an Associate Attorney for a law firm in Des Moines where she worked mostly in liability and insurance defense representing insurance carriers, risk management pools, self-insured businesses, and other local entities in both state and federal courts. Out of law school, Crystal spent time working as an Associate Attorney for a personal injury law firm in West Des Moines. She also spent a semester of law school working as a Student Attorney for the Drake Children’s Rights Legal Clinic.
Outside of work, she enjoys time with family and friends as well caring for her many pets including two chinchillas, two golden retrievers, and a cat. She also is an avid reader and enjoys a good board game.
