Free Consultation Initial appointment and lawyer consultation are FREE. Our law office requires a fee to give a second opinion on a criminal case for which another criminal attorney is presently representing you. Our Georgia lawyers do not handle the Georgia DDS appeal or ignition interlock paperwork, except for clients who have retained our law office. Traffic lawyer cost varies, depending on felony vs misdemeanor charges and court location. DUI attorney cost varies depending on complexity of the case. Traffic attorney cost is less than DUI and other serious traffic ticket offenses. DUI lawyer cost can be paid in monthly increments. Issues like family violence (domestic violence) can start out as a felony or misdemeanor, so these are on a case-by-case basis. Criminal case fees are "flat" fees, but paid in segments as the case progresses from arraignment, to motions, to trial (if needed). Initial appointment given in person or via Facetime or other virtual meeting technology.

Legal Answers
2 Questions Answered
- Q. Am I facing any jail time being a 1st offender with the following charges:Possession of Firearm and Aggravated Assault?
- A: If you lose a felony aggravated assault case, you likely would have to serve state prison time. Insofar as whether you can trust a public defender, the quick answer may be, "What is your other option?" Self-representation is a very bad option.
If you have family or friends that can help you with legal fees, and you later pay them back, consider meeting with a private criminal defense attorney for a FREE consultation.
With your clean record the best option would be to work toward pushing the prosecutor toward a lesser offense first, then negotiating the punishment phase, possibly under a first offender act disposition.
- Q. Can a drivers license be suspended even if there wasn't a DUI conviction (20 years ago)?
- A: Sounds as though you may have skipped out on court, and a "failure to appear" warrant suspended your right to drive. Your best bet is to contact a criminal defense attorney that deals with Georgia criminal history records. Such an old case will require a good bit of time, so be prepared to pay a fee.
