Legal Answers
88 Questions Answered
Q. Changing my name after divorce without it being on the divorce decree. How much of a headache?
A: It's a hassle, but definitely doable. On the name-change forms, much of it just asks what you're wanting it changed to. They often won't question the name choice.
Q. In missouri can you legally move out at 17 without parental consent if you are a female
A: At the age of 17, you are no longer considered a "runaway" for police purposes. You could also seek emancipation if you're 17 and living on your own, supporting yourself.
Q. Can my 17 year old move out with out permission with no stable place to go
A: In Missouri, those children of the age of 17 are not considered runaways. Although what you've described may not be safe for the child, there is not much that can be done when a 17-year-old moves out of the home.
