Caitlin Leigh Riccobono

Caitlin (“Cait”) Riccobono, Esq. currently serves in the role of Privacy Counsel for CRISP Shared Services. CRISP Shared Services is a non-profit support organization based out of Columbia, Maryland that provides technology infrastructure and other core services to health information exchanges (HIEs) across the U.S.

Cait has spent her legal career working with healthcare providers, health IT companies, and other innovators in the digital health landscape on matters such as general compliance and risk management, IT privacy and security, health information exchange, and contract negotiation and management. Cait was one of the primary drafters of the Common Agreement (Version 1) that forms part of the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement (TEFCA). As an attorney and certified Health Care Information Security & Privacy Practitioner (HCISPP), Cait understands both the regulatory and technical components of healthcare compliance and IT security requirements.

Prior to beginning her career as a healthcare lawyer, Cait spent five years as a skilled nursing and long-term care social worker. She puts this experience to work in her legal career, utilizing her on-the-ground perspective to craft practical solutions in a complex regulatory environment.
