Anson H. Asbury is the founder of Asbury Law Firm. Anson represents clients in federal and state tax controversies, tax litigation, business tax planning and corporate organization. A nationally recognized speaker, Anson has been quoted on tax matters in the Washington Post, BNA Daily Tax Report, and Tax Analysts Tax Notes Today. Anson has written on topics from conservation easement donations to corporate tax reporting for publications including the Journal of Accountancy, the Federal Lawyer, and the BNA Tax Management Memorandum. He is the co-host of Art and Anson Talk Tax, a video CPE broadcast of the Georgia Society of CPAs. He tweets about taxes, records and last night’s ball game @taxtrials.
He is an active member of the Atlanta Bar Association Tax Law Section, the American Inns of Court at the U.S. Tax Court, and the American Bar Association Section on Taxation. A retired officer in the U.S. Army Reserve, Anson was a tax professor at the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Legal Center and School. Anson also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Joseph Gale of the United States Tax Court.
Anson received his Bachelor of Arts from Villanova University, his Juris Doctor from the Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law, and his LL.M. in taxation (with distinction) from the Georgetown University Law Center.
