Biography

Amber L. Weeks is a partner at Noble Vrapi and the manager of the Albuquerque, New Mexico, office. Ms. Weeks represents families and individuals in cases involving family petitions, green card applications, waivers, naturalization and citizenship, U Visas for victims of crimes, and other immigration matters. Ms. Weeks is proficient in Spanish.

Ms. Weeks is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and a highly sought-after speaker at national and regional conferences. Ms. Weeks has presented and written practice advisories regarding marriage-based immigration cases, naturalization, waivers, removal proceedings, and other topics. Ms. Weeks is the co-chair of the AILA National Distance Learning Committee and a member of the AILA National USCIS Field Operations Committee.

Ms. Weeks graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 2010, where she received a Highest Academic Achievement award, earned Clinical Honors, and served as Managing Editor of the Natural Resources Journal. For more of Ms. Weeks’ experience, publications, and accomplishments, see her LinkedIn profile.

Prior to law school, Ms. Weeks worked as a community developer in Albuquerque’s International District, where she helped to organize an immigrant-run health center, immigrants’ rights workshops, and other programs. Ms. Weeks saw the fear and arbitrary limits placed on the dreams of so many of her talented immigrant friends. She dedicated her law career to lifting the fear and limits from her clients’ shoulders so that they can care for their families, work where they want to work, and live their lives without fear.

Ms. Weeks is married to Shawn Weeks, who is a Doctor of Oriental Medicine (DOM), and they have two joyful daughters. Ms. Weeks grew up on a farm, and she is an avid backyard gardener. She enjoys growing wonderful fresh fruits and vegetables, and her husband then loves to turn those fresh ingredients into delicious meals.
