Pete has been an active Richmond County Bar Association member since 2002, where he chairs the Technology Committee. He has been elected every three years to sit as a Director since 2011. Pete is also a founding member of New World Preparatory Charter School, Staten Island's first charter middle school, where, since 2008, he's sat on the Board of Trustees and chairs the Legal Committee.
Working full-time for Project Hospitality (feeding and helping the homeless, the mentally ill, and those affected by HIV/AIDS) from 1988 to 1995, Pete attended the College of Staten Island (CUNY) from 1985 to 1992, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in English. Eight years later, continuing to work while attending classes at night, Pete received his JD from New York Law School in 2000. While attending New York Law School at night, Pete began working as a freelance “computer guy and law student.” He designed and automated databases, legal forms, and office documents/systems for many law firms located throughout the City of New York, some of which continue to use his automated forms to this day.

- Q. lien against my house will it expire after 10 years if the lien is renewed, will it carry the fee from the prior lien ?
- A: A lien against your house in New York is good for ten years and can be renewed for another 10 years. The amount of the lien remains the same once renewed but the statutory interest of 9% annually continues to accrue, and the lienholder will be entitled to interest through the date of payment.
- Q. My ex boyfriend and I are co-owners of a house. The new agreement says I have sole & exclusive residency of the property
- A: One owner cannot oust/evict another and so if he's on the deed - absent a written agreement to the contrary - he has a right to access. Your "new agreement" might be such an agreement, but we'd need more information in order to answer your question. Assuming the new agreement was drafted by an attorney, ask that attorney since she's already familiar with the facts and should know.

- A: Attorney Greb was mostly correct, but as a NY attorney, I'd suggest that the required time period for a claim of adverse possession is at least 10 (not 20) years. A survey is absolutely necessary, and you should not rely on theirs. You should consult with an attorney in person and not here on the Internet.
