Michael L. Shanahan

Levin & Perconti welcomed Michael L. Shanahan to the firm in November 2014. As an associate attorney, Michael handles all types of medical malpractice, nursing home, products liability, personal injury and wrongful death cases. Prior to joining the firm, Michael worked for a general liability and workers’ compensation firm in Chicago.

Michael graduated from the DePaul University College of Law in May 2013 and was admitted to the Illinois Bar in November 2013. As a law student, Michael received the CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Trial Advocacy and Legal Drafting and was a Dean’s Merit Scholarship Recipient. He also clerked for a litigation firm in Chicago where he assisted attorneys in a variety of areas including construction, trucking, premise liability, and personal injury litigation.

Michael earned undergraduate degrees in Economics and Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2009. Prior to law school, he spent a year working as an elementary teacher in an underprivileged school in San Diego, CA through the Augustinian Volunteers program.

He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association. He also serves on the Board of the St. Rita’s Young Alumni Committee where he organizes events for recent graduates in order to foster continuing involvement with the school.
