I am part of a highly motivated and effective team of attorneys that strive to share our extensive knowledge of the Special Education process and make our services reasonably affordable and readily available to those in need. We provide the information required to help Parents make an educated and informed decision regarding their child’s future. I have held several presentations to Parent groups to explain the Special Education process and their rights. Every day I help children take advantage of the services they are entitled to and for children with an array of special needs. I believe each child has rights: they have rights to fair treatment, to proper education, and many other opportunities. Issues such as individual education programs (IEP) and 504 plans can be confusing, making it important to understand the benefits and drawbacks of each option. Having representation to explain each plan, other alternatives, and government requirements is vitally important. I do not believe that finances should be a barrier to families who are in need of help. Therefore, our practice is centered around helping low income and otherwise disadvantaged children.

Health Care Professionals will a gain a basic foundational knowledge of the Due Process and specifically learn about Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and their role in the process. The IEP meeting, required by federal statute, is convened at least once a school year to plan an educational program that is tailored to the needs of each disabled child. The child's "team" attends the meeting: teachers, therapists, parents, school administrators, and any other invited parties. Many Health Care Professionals don’t realize that school staff may not be savvy about the needs of children with complex neurologically based problems.
